This morning we received a visit from Alan Mak, MP for Havant. Alan had a look around the cemetery and discussed the origins of the Friends Group, the work we had done and our plans for the Heritage Lottery Fund grant. He appeared impressed with our work and asked us to let him know when the next stage of the project is near to completion.
After the photo call we cut back a large patch of brambles from the wall in the St Faith’s section; the before and after photographs show the contrast. It’s always satisfying to have a large heap of something at the end of a job.
There were some more very hungry (cinnabar moth) caterpillars on the remains of ragwort and they moved on to other plants while we were working.
